Ingenuity InLighten Swing Review

8 Min Read

The Ingenuity InLighten Swing is loaded with a variety of exciting entertainment features that are designed to get children interested and engaged. It’s a full-size swing that can hold up to 20 pounds or babies 0 to 9 months old. A spinning mobile, lights, a vibration mode, and a seat that can rotate through 180 degrees are some of the features included in this product. It is a large swing that will require a specific location in your house, and you will be required to pay a higher price for a swing that is packed with a variety of entertainment features. This Ingenuity InLighten Swing, on the other hand, raises the bar significantly in comparison to the other baby swings on the market concerning entertainment.

What to Look For In an Ingenuity InLighten Swing

A company with a diverse portfolio, Kids II includes Ingenuity among its brands. Kids II designs and ships a wide range of child-related items to help parents and meet the needs of babies at all stages of development. So far, the company has introduced 400 distinct baby and infant products to the market worldwide. As a result of this trajectory, the company is one of the companies that is growing at the fastest rate in the baby product industry.

Quality

Compared to other swings, this one is of a higher quality, but it is not especially outstanding. The seat has a shallower design, and it provides two different recline positions to accommodate the requirements of your infant. When set to the lowest level, the angle is flatter than most of the other options. To recline the seat, press the buttons on both sides of the seat. We saw that the base didn’t move much when the swing was going the fastest. This movement, on the other hand, did not give rise to any concerns regarding stability or tipping.

Adding some enhancements to the 5-point harness would be beneficial, and doing so would increase the quality score. Even though it doesn’t have as good of materials as some others, we did notice a nice touch: the fabric covering the crotch buckle. This feature is useful because it can make it less likely that skin will get pinched when buckling. But the shoulder straps on this harness aren’t padded or made of material, which we’d love to see. We think the baby has a more comfortable experience when things like that are considered.

The baby seat is a little higher than some other options on the market. We think this might be useful for moms who just had a baby (especially those who had a c-section) or parents who’d rather not have to bend over too much when putting or taking off their baby from the swing. A small rise in height can make a difference sometimes.

Entertainment

A lot of fun things are built into the Ingenuity InLighten Swing, and not many other swings can match it.

The swing has a mirror surface and an electronic light-up mobile with plush toys. As far as we are concerned, this particular design element provides an additional layer of enchantment for young children and is likely to attract the attention of a fussy infant. The swing is useful because the seat can turn 180 degrees. It can swing in three different directions either from front to back or from side to side. Every baby can find their perfect swinging experience with this one, thanks to its six speeds, vibration mode, and abundance of music and sounds. We also think that parents will like where the control panel is placed because it is easier for them to get to. Unfortunately, we weren’t happy with the ConnectMe feature because it uses an old audio attachment. These days, most modern devices don’t have this connection.

Portability

There are better swings on the market than the Ingenuity InLighten Swing if you want something easy to move around.

This full-size swing is very big and takes up a lot of room. Although it has a partial fold that makes it smaller when not in use, it is still big and tall. To fold the swing, push the lever over and pull up on the frame from the back of the swing. Even when folded, it’s still challenging to move.

Assembly

We did not find the process of putting together Ingenuity InLighten Swing to be enjoyable because it is difficult to put together. Things went wrong a few times during the assembly, and it took us at least 20 minutes to finish.

There are a few steps involved in the process, and it is necessary to have a screwdriver by your side to finish the swing. In the process of following the instructions provided in the user manual, we came across a minor problem with the screws, which was that they did not fit on the same side of the frame pole as in the illustration. We had to fix some problems with this before we could move on to the next step. Also, make sure the batteries for the vibration feature are in before you put the seat cover on. When the seat cover is on, it’s hard to get to the battery compartment.

Is the Ingenuity InLighten Swing Worth the Money?

The Ingenuity InLighten Swing may be a good option for you to consider if you are willing to take on the process of assembly and your child is a person who thrives on stimulation as a means of distraction and calming. With so many features, you can make it your own and give your child a lot of ways to have fun.

What Other Baby Swings You Must Consider?

The Maxi-Cosi Cassia Swing and the 4moms MamaRoo Multi-Motion Swing are two options to consider if you are looking for a baby swing that provides a wider range of motion for your child to have fun. If you’re looking for travel-friendly options, the Graco DuetConnect LX or Ingenuity Portable Swing may be more suitable alternatives.
